Teton Thai's new restaurant is tucked over by the Ranch Lot in Teton Village.
The quality of life out here on the West Bank of Jackson Hole just got a little bit better.  Teton Thai, everyone's favorite family-run, homestyle Thai restaurant, has just relocated to Teton Village.

It seems the Teton Thai owners have two new babies:   the gorgeous little girl who was born the week they moved out of their downtown Jackson restaurant, and their bright , cozy, modern space at Teton Village.

The classic old Teton Thai sign hangs inside the bright new space in Teton Village.
Those of us who live on this West End of Jackson Hole, with its paucity of restaurants and virtually no quality take-out restaurants, couldn't be happier.  Teton Thai has the same great menu, tetonthai.com, great prices, and the beloved 5 star spiciness scale.

Bright, cozy, and warm. Teton Thai's 30 seat restaurant will seat 100 once the outside deck is open.
In the midst of a cooking rut last week, I visited Teton Thai 3 times:  twice for lunch, and once for apres ski, where I decided to scrap my plans to make dinner, and got take-out.

The same friendly faces are cooking out at Teton Village.
With a full bar, a nice wine list and lots of microbrews, Teton Thai at the Village is the hopping place for Apres Ski.  Advertising only by "word of mouth", in the true Jackson Hole tradition, tables have been packed and the bar is selling more beer than any other establishment in Teton Village.   Not bad for a soft opening.

And then there's the food.  This is the Thai food you can't cook at home, with recipes handed down through the family in Thailand all the way to our beloved village in Wyoming.  (Although I am working on a recipe for you to make at home that uses wild game in a panang curry sauce, that may be the perfect substitute if you can't buzz out to Teton Village).

Chani sits on the bar with her Dad, for some quiet time before Teton Thai opens for lunch.
There's my favorite salad, Yum Woon Sen, with those delectable slippery glassy noodles, and a hot  version, Pad Woon Sen with a prick nam pla sauce. There's the dumpling soup, which is wholesome and filling, with a rich homemade broth.  I love the crispy spring rolls that you can order as an appetizer.  If you order soup, you'll find a crispy spring roll on the side.

My pictures of Chani turned out much better that my pictures of the wonderful food at Teton Thai.
The Thai Street Ribs are a new item on the menu, and a big hit Apres Ski.  The Roasted Duck Curry was the take-out item most in demand at my house; next time I'll have to get two orders.  Three star spicy (on a scale of 5 stars being the most spicy) didn't deter my kids from eating every last drop.

Teton Thai.  Open noon til ten at the Village.  733-0022.  Check it out.
